Canyon in steep hills of poorly consolidated silty sediments; burned (ca. 3 yrs. ago) chaparral with coastal sage and riparian patches, Yucca schidigera and Opuntia locally common. Very dry year (so far, driest since 1882) and few annuals present, except a thin cover of weedy grasses, many of those failing; shrubs mostly stressed.
Flowering & Fruiting
Scarce annual on N-facing burned slopes and along wash bottoms; fls. blue. Less than 25 indiv. seen all day.
