The mammal collection at Eastern Kentucky University currently holds ~1,300 specimens (92 species from 4 countries) but is steadily growing. Our specimen types are primarily dry and consist of both traditionally skinned/stuffed specimens as well as skulls and skeletons.There is a small subset of wet specimens that are held in a separate location on campus. Some of our oldest specimens date back to the 1950s and most recently-added specimens were caught/preserved in 2022.
