Bare, exposed, sandy soil.
Psorothamnus scoparius, Bouteloua aristidoides, B. barbata, Portulaca oleraceae, Kallestroemia parviflora.
Fairly abundant at this site. Annual, prostrate to ascending growth habit with panicle inflorescences and narrow triangular lvs. Small white to pinkish flwrs ripening to frts that are surrounded by a mucilaginous sac when wet, probably aiding in dispersal or germination, or both.
