Interface between semi-desert grassland and AZ Upland subdivision of Sonoran desertscrub with scattered Pinus edulis, Juniperus monosperma, Dasylirion wheeleri, Agave chrysantha, A. toumeyana var. bella; near edge of massive cliff system, only in shade of trees & shrubs, with annuals including Pterostegia drymarioides, Amsinckia intermedia, Descurainia obtusa ssp. brevisiliqua, Lupinus shockleyi, Thysanocarpus curvipes
Corolla light blue; scales at base of corolla partially fused to tube with free tips; just beginning to bloom, abundant locally
