Locality: USA, New Mexico, Quay, near Interstate 40, 6 mi. WSW St. Jon, Quay Co., N. Mex. (El. at Tucumcari, 17 mi. to the W, is 4085 ft.)
Habitat: Locally common in reddish sandy and gravelly soil
Description: Disk dark purplish red, yellowish centrally. Rays purplish basally, becoming lighter purplish rose and, at tips, an off-yellow. Rays lined with purplish along veins. Foliage light dull green
