Habitat: In desert grassland on very gently rolling landscape underlain by a mix of Perdiz Conglomerate (a fanglomerate of variable composition) and Quaternary alluvium. Associates included Bouteloua spp., Ephedra trifurca. Few other species in bloom due to extreme drought conditions. Rare.
Reproductive Condition: flowering=early
