Habitat: Common in openings in shrubland on natural shell ridge. Associates include Ampelopsis arborea, Amyris texana, Anredera sp., Celtis reticulata, Cissus incisa, Cocculus carolinus, Colubrina texensis, Condalia hookeri, Cornus drummondii, Diospyros texana, Erythrina herbacea, Forestiera angustifolia, Indigofera suffruticosa, Opuntia lindheimeri, Prosopis glandulosa, Rhus toxicodendron, Rivina humilis, Sapindus saponaria, Sideroxylon lanuginosum, Smilax bona-nox, Sophora secundiflora, Vitis mustangensis, Yucca treculeana, Zanthoxylum fagara.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
